Thanks for sharing that experience. It was really interesting to know the intent behind the work and how you came up with it. Its awesome that you continued with the theme even after being suggested to do more ‘people friendly’ productions. I think its benefitical for the community and inspires people to go beyond their normal patterns of thought. I definately prefer seeing that type of art than seeing art that has been limited and filtered to be made into something simply, ‘people pleasing’. Interesting that the wall was buffed in a matter of hours after completion.

I’m into keeping an open mind, I watch and read everything from as many angles as possible and then internalise and process. I wanted to say that I really like where this is going, there aren’t really many graffiti artists out there, who take their blogging/documenting your work that great level(.. I think that you are the only person, who takes great flicks of their work, most of photos out there are quite random, not capturing the environment and surrondings at all).. Also not very many people go ahead having a meaning to their work in graff, most of the times only thing that comes through the head is “5 letters of your name + wall” .. not that it’s bad, considering that graffiti is based on letterstyles directed to other graffiti writers, not some pretty pictures, appreciated by average citizens, but sometimes working a little deeper than that is really cool.. Anyway, the thing you are doing is amazing, keep rocking one, I’ll keep both of my eyes opened on this one..

Painting these walls was a goal from many years ago, not so much this specific content but walls that portrayed a deeper message.
I like that it gets the mind thinking, gets people questioning it.

I remember Lee’s Whole cars that had agendas of the times they were painted in, that placed me there, it gave me more of an understanding of the era they were painitng in, placed me in that enviroment that little bit more. ( Although I wouldnt of wanted to wear flares)

“can I get a number one combo with extra cheese on the burger”
“would you like to upsize it”
“can I get no ice”
“please drive through”

The repeated quotes we heard all day painting next to the Wendys drive thru.

bro this is dope, your takes on graffiti are amzing, and the inspiration, culture and meaning, interpreted on to a wall are quite unique in this artform, sadly you dont really see enough of it. lots of kids just throw blackbooks up on to shit without thinking where its coming from, or why it was in their own bb in the first place.

yeah I generally find the story behind the work the most interesting aspect. If contemporary art is defined by the journey from the initial idea through to it’s presentation then people would be amazed if they knew what us writers go through at times.
